Underlying Medical Problems

Many children today have underlying medical problems.

We need to start thinking differently about health and wellness.

What if we looked at diagnoses not as an endpoint but as a beginning?

What if we view the symptoms common to a particular diagnosis as messages, signals or warning signs sent from our bodies that something is in need of balancing?

In most chronic illnesses, symptoms are there because there are underlying physiological, emotional, energetic or other imbalances that are crying out for attention.

If we begin to focus on reestablishing balance in our bodies and in our lives, it then becomes much more conceivable that we can restore health.

If we view diagnoses like autism, ADHD/ADD or allergies as observable “fact,” inborn, or intractable, then there is no hope for the restoration of health.

Common Underlying Medical Problems

Our country is witnessing an unprecedented “epidemics of epidemics” of chronic illness, especially in our children.

By looking at what is common to all of the “new childhood epidemics” we can better understand the environmental root causes and what can be done to restore our children to health.

Most children diagnosed with one of the epidemic conditions—autism, ADHD/ADD, OCD, allergies, asthma, autoimmune conditions—will exhibit some of the following physiological imbalances:

  • Immune dysregulation
  • Nutrient deficiencies
  • Gut dysbiosis
  • Cellular toxicities
  • Impaired detoxification capabilities
  • Excessive oxidative stress

Whether a child has ADD or asthma or any other chronic symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, sensory issues, or myriad other symptoms, upon deeper analysis you are likely to find some or all of the aforementioned underlying medical problems.

What contributes to these underlying imbalances?
