Tony: Recovery from PDD-NOS/Autism with Homotoxicology

Original Symptoms & Diagnoses:
PDD-NOS (autism), regression, speech delay
Before:
My son had a developmental regression at 17 months old. Prior to recovery he never got sick, not because he was a healthy toddler; it was the complete opposite. His immune system was not strong enough to prompt a response to a common cold. By five years of age, he still had very little speech.
After:
My son’s speech and language exploded approximately 6-8 months into homotoxicology, and the gains he has continued to make are nothing short of a miracle. I remember tears streaming down my face the first time I saw him pretend play with his toys, when he came out from under and wanted to play with other children.

Where to begin on this eight-year journey…

Regression at 17 Months

My son had a developmental regression at 17 months old and as a new mother, I heard a lot of “you’re crazy” talk from family and friends, but I knew in my heart that something terrible had happened to my baby; I just didn’t know what.

My first visit was with a well-known neurodevelopmental pediatrician who after three hours, gave my son a diagnosis of PPD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Delay-Not Otherwise Specified, now lumped in with autism), stating that my son displayed inconsistent engageability which may or may not lead to something more serious; only time would tell. He suggested I put my 18-month-old child in ABA therapy 25 hours a week. (Never considered it.)

Next, I contacted early intervention for an evaluation in which my son ONLY qualified for speech-therapy services. It was not long before I found an amazing private speech and occupational therapist.

The Healing Journey Began

My next journey was the world of functional/integrative medicine where I tried several therapies that included diets, nutritional supplements for deficiencies, and every test you can imagine from comprehensive stool samples, OAT (Organic Acid Test) urine testing, porphyrins and numerous blood tests. I branched out and tried homeopathy to compliment our functional-medicine regimen, and little by little, I could see my son’s health improving, but the one thing that I could not get back was speech.

At this point my son was 4 ½ years old and had a few words, no real language. One of his physicians suggested HBOT and PEMF therapy along with chelation, and while I was still hesitant, I knew he needed more.

Homotoxicology Was the Best Intervention

I no longer researched top physicians. I obsessively read parents forums; that’s where I found the answers to so many of my questions. You have to love those Mama Warriors paving the way! That’s where I came across Mary Coyle at The Real Child Center, and after one phone conversation with Mary, I knew instinctually that homotoxicology was our next journey. It was the BEST one.

At this time, we were closing in on the magic age of five for recovery, and my son still had little speech. Mary had already explained homotoxicology, so I was eager to start our first protocol. If Mary did know what to expect every step along the way, I’m not sure I would have made it. There were more phone calls to walk me off the ledge when certain detoxes became difficult to manage, but Mary always knew what to do to get him back on track.

After opening pathways and gently pulling out toxins, Tony continued to become healthier with each protocol. Prior to starting homotoxicology he never got sick, not because he was a healthy toddler. It was the complete opposite; his immune system was not strong enough to prompt a response to a common cold. I never thought I would see the day that my son got a tan on the beach.

Nothing Short of a Miracle

With all that said, my son’s speech and language exploded approximately 6-8 months into homotoxicology, and the gains he has continued to make are nothing short of a miracle.

Working on an energetic level also meant going back through some difficult times to come out on the other side, but once you see the other side, there is no turning back! I remember tears streaming down my face the first time I saw him pretend play with his toys, when he came out from under and wanted to play with other children.

I am so incredibly thankful to say Tony is turning 10 in March and while classified in a language learning class at school, he is expected to mainstream next year. He plays the trumpet, loves his martial arts class, and is playing ice hockey this year. He loves to ride his bike and skateboard with his neighborhood friends and NEVER wants to miss a day of school.

He is such an amazing kid with a big heart and YES there are days when he never stops talking or asking questions and I cherish every moment.  And if you ask Tony, he will personally tell you that Ms. Mary is his angel.

Help make this healing possible for more kids.
