What Is BodyTalk?
The BodyTalk system is a gentle, non-invasive energy medicine therapy that restores communication systems within the body’s energy systems.
This therapy re-synchronizes and re-aligns in a non-invasive, holistic approach to reduce or reverse physical, mental, and emotional pain and stress.
Stress or illness can cause the communication systems within the body to break down, which in turn triggers a setback in our emotional, psychological and physical well-being.
BodyTalk uniquely allows the body to return to its natural healthy function, effectively addressing issues of mind, body and spirit.
Most importantly, BodyTalk is also one of the most effective techniques to treat children (especially children with special needs) who suffer from underlying disconnected mind/body energy.
How Can BodyTalk Help My Child?
Bodytalk practitioners have found that children are naturals at reaching their full potential with BodyTalk because they are quick to respond, heal and learn.
Many children with special needs, in particular children with dyslexia, need their “switching” mechanism to be reset, and BodyTalk is one of the unique therapies that is able to do this.
BodyTalk also incorporates many principles of reflexology, breathing and light tapping on the body, which are gentle approaches with children.
With simple BodyTalk techniques, children can experience almost immediately a sense of balance, a reduction in their stress and anxiety levels, and a gradual calming of their bodies and minds.
Why Is the Cortices Technique Important for My Child?
One particularly popular BodyTalk at-home technique is the Cortices Technique which targets connecting both the right and left side of the brain to each other.
It also eliminates “cold spots” where the blood flow is diminished and/or there is less cellular activity.
The concept behind this technique is to restore communication within all areas of the cortex and limbic systems within the brain.
Many parents have found this technique:
- Improves mental acuity
- Improves cognitive functioning
- Improves emotional balance
- Increases focus
- Increases concentration
- Increases attention span
It can even be done on babies who have no other means of communication but crying!
There is nothing so important to new mothers when they can help their baby begin to feel comforted and consoled by Bodytalk’s Cortices Technique. http://wellrootedwellness.com/how-to-tap-out-your-cortices/
- Hold one hand sideways at the base of the skull. With the other hand, lightly tap the top of the head and then the sternum, alternating for two full breath cycles.
- Repeat this procedure until you have covered the whole midline of the head to just above the eyebrows.
- Hold both sides of the head for a few seconds. Release one hand to repeat tapping procedure as above, and then hold head again.
